š” Clinical Pearl: Cryptic Shock
Normal lactate ā stable patient.
Some patients have tissue hypoperfusion with normal lactate. Look for:
ā¢ Capillary refill >3 seconds
ā¢ Urine output <0.5 mL/kg/hr
ā¢ Altered mental status
Lactate is ONE marker. Never rely on it alone.
