🚨 Flash Cap Refill Is NOT Good Perfusion
Cap refill <1 second looks reassuring. It is not.
In warm shock, extreme vasodilation causes flash refill — the blood races back because vascular tone has collapsed.
The child looks pink, warm, and well-perfused. But blood pressure is plummeting and organs are underperfused.
Rule: Flash cap refill + wide pulse pressure + bounding pulses = WARM SHOCK. Escalate immediately.
